  • ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • 2 large apples, peeled, cored, and diced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup (120ml) milk
  • ¼ cup (60g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gently fold the dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined; then stir in the diced apples.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of batter onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
  6. While baking, prepare the glaze by whisking powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract together until smooth.
  7. Allow fritters to cool slightly before drizzling with glaze and enjoy warm!
