  • ½ cup dark brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, cake flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cornstarch; set aside.
  2. In a stand mixer, beat room temperature butter with granulated and brown sugars on medium speed for 2-3 minutes until fluffy.
  3. Mix in the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients while mixing on low speed until just combined.
  5. Fold in semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips using a spatula.
  6. Chill the dough for at least 1 hour or up to 24 hours for best results.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  8. Scoop large balls of dough onto the sheet about 3 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 15-18 minutes until edges are set but centers look slightly underbaked.
