  • 4 cups cold water
  • ½ cup water (for syrup)
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Milk or cream (to taste)
  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. In a large jar or pitcher, combine coarsely ground coffee with cold water. Stir gently, cover, and refrigerate for 12–24 hours.
  2. After steeping, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or coffee filter into a clean container.
  3. In a small saucepan over medium heat, mix water, brown sugar, and cinnamon until dissolved. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract; allow to cool.
  4. To serve, fill a glass with ice cubes, pour in cold brew and add 2–3 tablespoons of syrup. Stir and add milk or cream as desired.
