  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 6 fresh apples
  • 1 cup white chocolate
  • 1 cup dark chocolate

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry apples thoroughly.
  2. Line a baking sheet with greased parchment paper.
  3. In a small saucepan, melt butter, salt, and cream over medium heat; set aside.
  4. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Stir until moistened and cook until it reaches 320°F without stirring.
  5. Gradually whisk in the warm cream mixture, then return to heat until it reaches 245°F – 250°F. Stir in vanilla extract.
  6. Let caramel cool slightly; slice apples into thin pieces and insert sticks.
  7. Dip each apple slice into caramel or drizzle on top; place on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Refrigerate for about 15 minutes to set.
  9. Melt white and dark chocolate using a double boiler; drizzle or dip each apple slice into chocolate.
  10. Add desired toppings before returning to the fridge for another 15 minutes.
