  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease three 8-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients; mix until smooth.
  4. Stir in hot coffee until fully combined.
  5. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared pans and bake for 25–30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let the cakes cool completely before assembling.
  7. For the orange filling, whisk together sugar and cornstarch in a saucepan; slowly add orange juice and cook until thickened. Stir in zest and butter; cool completely.
  8. To make the ganache, heat cream until steaming and pour it over chopped chocolate; stir until smooth and glossy.
