Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 large eggs
  • ¼ cup creamy salad dressing (like Miracle Whip)
  • ¼ teaspoon dry mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Hot sauce (to taste)
  • 4 drops red food coloring
  • 4 drops blue food coloring
  • 4 drops green food coloring
  • 3 cups water (divided, or as needed)

Instructions

  1. Boil the eggs: Place eggs in a large saucepan, cover with cold water, bring to a boil over medium heat. Turn off heat and let sit covered for 20 minutes. Cool under cold running water and peel.
  2. Prepare the filling: Cut boiled eggs in half lengthwise and remove yolks into a mixing bowl. Mash yolks and mix with salad dressing, mustard, salt, pepper, and hot sauce until smooth.
  3. Color the egg whites: In three bowls with 1 cup of water each, add red, blue, and green food coloring. Soak egg white halves for about 15 minutes or until desired color is achieved.
  4. Fill the egg whites: Spoon or pipe yolk mixture into colored egg white halves. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
