  • 2 cups softened butter
  • 1 and 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 (12 oz) bag fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 cup walnuts (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan with nonstick spray or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl or stand mixer, beat the softened butter until smooth.
  3. Add granulated sugar and brown sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
  4. Mix in vanilla extract and salt until combined.
  5. Gradually incorporate the flour one cup at a time, mixing just until no white streaks remain.
  6. Press about two-thirds of the dough evenly into the prepared pan.
  7. Spread washed and dried cranberries over the dough evenly.
  8. Mix chopped walnuts into the remaining dough and distribute it over the cranberries in chunks.
  9. Chill assembled pan in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes.
  10. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  11. Bake for 42-45 minutes until edges are golden brown.
  12. Allow cooling for at least 10-20 minutes before cutting into bars.
