  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 1/3 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups cooked rice (white, brown, or cauliflower)
  • Fresh parsley or green onion for garnish
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season the shrimp with salt, black pepper, and paprika in a bowl.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the shrimp for about 2–3 minutes on each side until pink. Remove from skillet.
  3. Lower heat and add remaining butter and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in heavy cream (or half-and-half) and parmesan cheese; let simmer until slightly thickened.
  5. Return shrimp to the skillet and toss in the sauce for an additional 1–2 minutes until heated through.
  6. Serve over warm cooked rice and garnish with fresh parsley or green onions.
