Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 buttery croissants
  • 8 slices of cooked chicken
  • 60 grams flour
  • 500 grams milk
  • 50 grams butter
  • 250 grams grated emmental cheese
  • Salt, pepper, and nutmeg to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (356°F).
  2. Make the cheese sauce: Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook until light golden. Gradually add milk while whisking to avoid lumps. Cook until thickened, then remove from heat and mix in grated emmental cheese with seasoning.
  3. Assemble: Slice each croissant in half lengthwise, layer chicken on the bottom half, pour cheese sauce over it, and place the top half back on.
  4. Bake: Arrange croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, drizzle remaining cheese sauce on top, and bake for about 24 minutes or until golden brown.
