  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • ½ cup hot coffee
  • 2 cups shredded phyllo dough (kataifi)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup pistachio cream
  • 4 oz milk or semi-sweet chocolate bar
  • ½ cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add egg, vanilla extract, milk, and vegetable oil; stir until combined.
  4. Gradually mix in hot coffee until smooth; pour into the pan and bake for 25 minutes.
  5. For the pistachio filling, sauté chopped kataifi with butter until golden; mix with pistachio cream.
  6. To prepare the chocolate layer, melt chocolate with heavy cream in the microwave and whisk until smooth.
  7. Once cooled, layer the pistachio mixture on the cake followed by the melted chocolate; garnish as desired.
