  • 2 cups dried hibiscus flowers (rinsed)
  • 8 cups water (divided)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, bring 2 cups of rinsed dried hibiscus flowers, 4 cups of water, and 3/4 cup of granulated sugar to a boil over high heat.
  2. Cover the saucepan and reduce heat to low; simmer for 15 minutes to blend flavors.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature for flavor development.
  4. Strain the mixture using a colander to remove the hibiscus flowers.
  5. Add the remaining 4 cups of water into the strained concentrate for dilution.
  6. Stir well and chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
