  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup barley tea (brewed)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves (or 1 teaspoon dried thyme)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil and cook chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and fully cooked. Remove from skillet and keep warm.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté onions until translucent, then add garlic and cook briefly.
  4. Deglaze the pan with brewed barley tea, allowing it to simmer lightly for about 5 minutes.
  5. Stir in chicken broth, then reduce heat and slowly mix in heavy cream, Dijon mustard, and thyme. Simmer to thicken.
  6. Return the chicken to the skillet and coat with sauce; heat through for a few minutes.
