Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup salted butter (softened)
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 and 1/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Flaky sea salt (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter with an electric mixer until smooth. Gradually add brown sugar and granulated sugar, mixing well.
  2. Mix in vanilla extract and eggs until combined. Slowly add the dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt) until a dough forms.
  3. Gently fold in chocolate chips. Scoop dough into balls weighing about 140 grams each and chill in the refrigerator for at least three hours.
  4. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line cookie sheets with parchment paper. Arrange chilled dough balls on sheets with space between them.
  5. Bake for 12-16 minutes until edges are golden and centers look slightly underdone. Let cool before serving.
