  • 3/4 cup cake flour
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, cake flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a stand mixer, cream together cubed butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add the egg and egg yolk; mix until well combined.
  4. Gradually incorporate the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined. Gently fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Shape dough into approximately six portions (about 5.7 oz each) and place on a lined baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until golden brown on top but slightly soft in the center.
  7. Let cool on the baking sheet for at least 15 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
