  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup salted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 11 1/2 tsp red gel food coloring
  • 3/4 cup chopped white chocolate or white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Mix in egg yolks, vanilla extract, and desired amount of red food coloring until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the white chocolate chunks.
  7. Scoop dough into balls and place on prepared baking sheets about two inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes; let cool on sheets for five minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
