  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper (or to taste)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • ½ cup Greek yogurt or sour cream
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup cilantro, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed for consistency
  • 6 small corn or flour tortillas
  • 1 cup red cabbage, shredded
  • ½ cup carrot, shredded
  • 1 small jalapeño, thinly sliced (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish
  • Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine shrimp with olive oil, chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, cumin, cayenne pepper, lime juice, salt, and pepper. Let marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. For the avocado crema, blend avocado with Greek yogurt or sour cream, lime juice, minced garlic, cilantro, and salt until smooth. Adjust consistency with water if needed.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side until they are pink and opaque. Remove from heat.
  4. Warm tortillas in a skillet or microwave. Fill each tortilla with shredded red cabbage and carrot. Top with shrimp and jalapeño slices if desired. Drizzle with avocado crema and garnish with cilantro.
  5. Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side.
