Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup salted sweet cream butter
  • 4 ounces bittersweet baking chocolate (chopped)
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 2½ teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chip chunks (divided)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chopped bittersweet chocolate and salted butter together in 30-second intervals until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and cocoa powder; set aside.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, beat together granulated sugar and eggs until light and fluffy. Add the melted chocolate mixture and vanilla extract; mix well.
  5. Gradually fold in the flour mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Gently fold in one cup of semi-sweet chocolate chip chunks into the batter and pour into the prepared pan. Top with remaining chocolate chips.
  7. Bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs. Allow cooling before cutting into squares.
