  • Juice and zest of 2 large oranges
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 100ml whole milk
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon orange blossom water
  • 150g powdered sugar (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. Cream unsalted butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-5 minutes).
  3. Incorporate eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the zest and juice of the oranges along with vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; gently fold into the wet mixture.
  6. Add whole milk and optional orange blossom water until smooth.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
