  • 1 French or Italian bread loaf
  • 1 lb thinly sliced ribeye or sirloin steak
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow onion, sliced
  • 8 slices provolone cheese or 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 4 tbsp softened butter
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil and sauté onions and bell peppers until soft (5–7 minutes).
  3. Add sliced steak; cook until browned and season with salt and pepper.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter with minced garlic.
  5. Cut the loaf lengthwise without cutting through; spread garlic butter inside.
  6. Stuff both halves with steak mixture and top with cheese.
  7. Wrap in aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  8. Unwrap and bake an additional 5–10 minutes until golden.
