Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups water (for syrup)
  • 1 cup cranberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 cups water (for tea)
  • 4 black tea bags
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 34 lemons)
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: fresh cranberries and lemon slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine 4 cups of water, cranberries, and sugar. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes until cranberries burst and syrup thickens slightly. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl to remove solids.
  3. In another pot, bring 4 cups of water to boil. Pour over tea bags in a heat-resistant pitcher and steep for 5-7 minutes before removing the bags.
  4. Once cooled, mix the cranberry syrup with the brewed tea and add fresh lemon juice to taste.
  5. Chill before serving over ice, garnished with optional cranberries and lemon slices.
