Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box white cake mix (15.25 oz)
  • Water, vegetable oil, egg whites (as instructed on cake mix)
  • Red food coloring
  • Blue food coloring
  • 1 container white frosting (12 oz)
  • Red, white, and blue sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven according to cake mix directions. Grease and flour a 12-cup bundt pan.
  2. Prepare the cake batter using water, vegetable oil, and egg whites as directed on the box. Divide batter into two bowls; color one red and the other blue.
  3. Pour red batter into the bottom of the bundt pan, followed by white batter, then blue batter—pour gently to maintain distinct layers.
  4. Bake according to package instructions or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes in the pan before transferring to a cooling rack.
  5. Once cooled, divide frosting into three bowls, heating each separately to drizzle over the cake in stripes using red and blue food coloring.
