  • ¼ cup (25 g) Cocoa Powder
  • ¾ cup (90 g) All-purpose Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Red Food Coloring
  • ¾ cup (130 g) White Chocolate Chips (optional)
  • 4 oz (115 g) Cream Cheese
  • ¾ stick (85 g) Unsalted Butter (for frosting)
  • 4 cups (480 g) Powdered Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter in a mixing bowl and whisk in granulated sugar and light brown sugar until combined.
  3. Add eggs, egg yolk, vanilla extract, vegetable oil, and cocoa powder; mix until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, fold in all-purpose flour, cornstarch, and salt until just combined.
  5. Add red food coloring and vinegar, then mix gently to combine.
