Ingredients
Scale
5 slices Thick Cut Turkey Turkey Bacon (Cut into 1/2 inch pieces)
1 medium Sweet Onion (Chopped, about 1 1/2 cups)
4 medium Garlic cloves (peeled and chopped)
1/2 Cup Catsup
1/4 Cup dark Molasses
1 Cup Chile Peppers (roasted, peeled, chopped)
2 Tablespoons Brown sugar
56 ounces Canned Baked Beans (2–28 ounce cans)
1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon Freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
Soak wood chips in water for at least 30 minutes; drain before use.
Drain canned beans in a colander, allowing them to sit.
In a large fry pan over medium heat, cook turkey bacon until crispy (about 10 minutes). Add chopped onions and sauté until softened (5 minutes). Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant (30 seconds).
Add catsup, molasses, chile peppers, and brown sugar to the pan and simmer for about 5 minutes to meld flavors.
In a grill-safe casserole dish, combine drained beans with kosher salt and pepper. Mix in the sauce from the fry pan.
Place the casserole on the grill over indirect medium heat and cook for approximately 40 minutes, stirring often.
